Who we are, mission statement
Washington Cannabis Association
is a non-profit trade association representing members of the medical cannabis community and their associated patients.
It is the mission of the WCA to ensure patients’ safe and legal access to medical cannabis.
We are a new organization and our initial focus is to help pass a bill in the Legislature that will clarify Washington State laws on medical marijuana, change the term to cannabis in state law, and officially legitimize a well regulated dispensary system.
WCA believes in good regulation that protects patients and the public while working with the emerging business sector that has the skills, integrity and expertise to deliver safe and reliable medical cannabis to legitimate patients.
WCA believes that no patient should have to turn to the black market to acquire medicine, and those providing legitimate supplies of cannabis to patients should not have to fear law enforcement.
WCA believes that local jurisdictions and law enforcement should not have to guess as to what the laws really says.
WCA joins local cities and communities in respectfully requesting that the 2011 Legislature pass comprehensive clarification and reform of our state laws.
